Hel Ved* and Pakhuis de Zwijger joined forces to present The New Documentary Night at Pakhuis de Zwijger on 15 November 2013 – a unique evening dedicated to a new generation of documentary-inspired photography.

The concept was simple: talent search + portfolio review + creative talks.

More than 200 photographers submitted their work. A special jury that consisted of Unseen Photo Fair, Huis Marseille and The Dutch photography museum selected 50 talents for the Creative Review.

The creative review took part in the unique location of Pakhuis de Zwijger. 21 experts in the field of photography, the arts and advertising industry viewed the portfolios during the Creative Review such as Anomaly, W+K, JWT, 72andSunny, GUP, Vice, NRC, Melkweg Gallery and more.
A great opportunity for photographers to share their work with experts and get feedback. During the creative talks different speakers converse on the topic of new documentary and the winner of the call was announced: Sharieta Berghuis.
